Blackall Range Care Group has been named the winner of the National Excellence in Age Services Award 2021. These awards are conducted by Leading Aged Services Australia (LASA) and as a locally basednot for profit organisation, RangeCare is thrilled to be recognised at such a high level in the industry.
The LASA Excellence in Age Services Awards aim to promote and recognise excellence across the age services industry. The awards celebrate the passion, contribution and achievements of organisations, teams and individuals in the service of older Australians. RangeCare was nominated due to the outstanding and innovative achievements in caring for their clients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the COVID-19 lockdowns and border closures of the last 2 years, RangeCare has launched a number of new services to support our vulnerable and isolated community members. These innovative services included:
● A home delivery meal service that offered the consumer choice through partnerships with local restaurants and cafes
● The loan of an IPad and some in-home technical support to launch Facetime or similar so our clients could keep in touch with family and friends
● In-home haircuts and beard trimmings, and
● A service for the home delivery of fruit, vegetable and butcher meat
None of the above would have been possible without RangeCare’s hardworking employees and dedicated volunteer community, who support their clients to live independently in their homes for as long as possible and help improve their quality of life.
In response to winning the LASA Award, CEO Greg Mannion said, “I'm really proud of what we were able to deliver during the pandemic. I don't think a lot of people realise that all our clients were thrown into a situation where they were told, stay at home for an extended period of time. Many of whom, didn't have family or any other support. To be able to get them through that in the innovative ways that our people were able to come up with to help really makes me proud to be a part of this industry. I'd just like to say, I hope what we have done and the story of RangeCare over this pandemic demonstrates to others in the industry that it is possible to deliver exactly what the clients need when they need it. I know we strive to do that day in and day out and I encourage others to do the same.”
